Raising the give currency cmd limit#471

There are a lot of items that are sold for over 50,000 pm in share and swap like keys and i calculated how many payments it would take to buy a key at it’s current price and it would take 50 payments without tax.

share and swap prices do not reflect these kinds of limitations because it is solely user-ran/staff does not control the market as it’s not encouraged in the first place. the community execs will talk it over so i won’t confirm/deny this suggestion

While we are forced to accept controversial changes because “communities are ever-evolving” and told to keep our mouths shut, but when it comes to improving the economy gaming experience, it’s suddenly “trading is not encouraged anyways.” Well, communities are ever-evolving; this is no longer the Mimu community of 2019. There is a free market in the support server. People can and will adjust their prices based on supply & demand.

it literally takes a few seconds to increase the limit, and it’s not going to hurt anyone or the overall economy to increase the currency transfer limit. so please just do it. thanks.

why do execs always say “it’s not encouraged” yet enforce strict rules such as 10 lines and pointless things? if “it’s not encouraged” then why keep that channel? /gen

we don’t encourage it because there’s always a risk of being scammed/offers changing in prices/etc. – the channel was kept as its a place in the community where users have shared with us that theyve made new friends/connections, helped their pet, etc.. we don’t want to take that away. rules such as 10 lines was created because there was purposeful drowning of other posts. its also just spammy, which goes against one of our server rules. what other rules in the channel do you believe are pointless? i feel we’ve done our best to try and keep a hands-off approach as much as possible as its community driven.

the limit exists in the first place because there is a major problem with alting- moreso previously when this limit wasn’t imposed. limits drive away people from sending payments from multiple accounts due to the sheer number of commands they’d have to use on each account.

i also feel this statement is pertinent- we have never told users to keep their mouths shut about any changes, and i really object to those words being put in our mouths. its never ‘suddenly’ been that trading is not encouraged- it has always been and always will. people are welcome to adjust their prices as they see fit, but i don’t see the limit increasing by a large amount anytime soon due to users still feeling incentivized in alting.

i’ve already stated above why we haven’t/if we do, it won’t be a significant amount. we don’t moderate scams because it’s very energy intensive due to people making false scam reports, miscommunication, etc.. the only scams we handle is if it involves actual money spent, ie keys. since we don’t encourage trading, users are expected to understand the gravity of trading and the responsibility in keeping themselves safe.
