bless multiple people at once#757

i understand that this was suggested 4 years ago, but i feel like this is a very popular request among frequent mimu users.

blessing is a core part of mimus system, and having the ability to bless multiple people at once would be extremely beneficial, helpful to people who use the system regularly & overall easier and smoother, with less fatigue from consistently doing the /bless @user command.

hello, thank you for taking the time to write this up! it is not poorly worded at all, and i totally undrstand why this comes up, espes fom frequent mimu users.

that said, this is one of those cases where this limitation is a very intentional thing from a design perspective. blessing is designed to be a small, individual daily interaction – not a bulk action. the very point of blessing being a free reward is to encourage deliaberate, person-to-person engagement, rather than turning it into a one-click routine where you copy paste a 50 person bless list.

allowing a mass ‘bless everyone’ action:

• removes intentionality behind choosing who to bless
• turn a social interaction into a mechanical upkeep task
• undermine the idea of bless being a personal free daily reward

because of that, for now i have no plans in supporting this; not due to technical difficulty but because it goes against the core purpose of the system.

i do appreciate the feedback though, and we may improve the bless flow a bit more - e.g. making it into a button on /balance or something of the like instead – and i’m glad people are actively thinking about how they use /bless day to day. it is always valuable to hear your feedback about how features are experienced in practice, as there’s only so much of mimu i can use myself (:

Okay not exactly the same suggestion, but similar:

instead of the bless button being on /balance

add a button for blessing back?

i.e.
/bless user: example

“you blessed example…”
[button to bless initiator]

it doesn’t necessarily have to be a “bless back“ either, it could maybe be any one can bless them button?

this would at least simplify bless 4 bless and imo is still kinda special?
